USEA JUNIOR EVENT CAMP

July 7 - 11, 2008
August 4 - 8, 2008

Kingsbury Hill Junior Event camp is for dedicated riders between the ages of 11 and 18 years old. We will accept riders whose experience ranges from brand new to combined training, to some competing experience at the Beginner Novice, Novice and Training Levels. Campers from any discipline are welcome and will be registered on a first-come, first-served basis. All junior event camps will be limited to 20 riders and their horses to allow for flexible scheduling and individual attention. All riders should be comfortable riding and jumping out in the open. Camp will focus on all three phases of eventing. The morning sessions will often focus on dressage and suppling work. The afternoon sessions will focus on conditioning, cross-country and show jumping. Our schedule will allow each camper to ride with a variety of instructors in a variety of settings.

The camps will include two daily instructional riding sessions, stable management lectures, hand on experience, video taping of lessons, and individualized guidance and scheduling for horse and rider. Campers will gain valuable knowledge, experience and confidence.

Our clinicians will focus on the fundamentals of eventing and balance seat riding. Some of this year’s clinicians will include:

Suzi Gornall        Jennifer Ravalico
Stephie Baer        Alison Eastman-Lawler

FACILITIES:
Facilities center around a huge red gambrel roof barn that sits high on the hill that was named Kingsbury long ago after the family who first settled here. Surrounding it are the 165 acres of field, woodlands, two schooling rings, three bunk houses, three USEA level cross country courses, and a new full size dressage arena.

HOUSING:
Kingsbury Hill Junior Event Camp participants will be housed according to age in one of our three bunkhouses. All have bunk bed accommodations and are fully screened and equipped for 10-14 campers.
